Povzetek
Namen prispevka je predstaviti in analizirati izbrane primere uporabe IKT v izobraževalnem sistemu Velike Britanije in Nemčije s poudarkom na uporabi IKT pri pouku geografije. Gre za prikaz posameznih segmentov predmetnih izkušenj, ki so bili v tujini uspešni. Poznavanje navedenih segmentov je pomembno za pripravo smernic in izhodišča za nadaljnji razvoj in vključevanje IKT pri pouku geografije v Sloveniji. Ob prenosu posameznih idej je treba upoštevati naše družbene in kulturne značilnosti, izobraževalne smernice v državi in posebnosti samega izobraževalnega sistema. V Nemčiji moramo kot veliko prednost izpostaviti uporabo Web GIS pri pouku geografije, številne didaktične in pedagoške revije, ki predstavljajo dobre primere učne prakse, in didaktične inštitute, ki spodbujajo, usmerjajo in izobražujejo učitelje; v Veliki Britaniji pa velik skupni portal London Grid, ki povezuje učence, učitelje in starše. Podobne portale imajo tudi druga večja britanska mesta.

Abstract
This article gives an overview of and analyses selected examples of the use of information and communication technology (ICT) in the educational systems of Great Britain and Germany. It points out the use of ICT in Geography lessons. It is about particular segments of experiences which were successful abroad. This knowledge is important for the preparation of guidelines and principles for future development and implementation of ICT in Geography lessons in Slovenia. By implementing individual ideas one has to consider social and cultural aspects, educational guidelines and specificities in the relative country. A huge advantage in Germany is the use of web GIS in Geography lessons, as well as the numerous didactic and pedagogical magazines that represent best learning practice. Furthermore, there are didactic institutes that stimulate, direct and educate teachers. In Great Britain there is the common learning platform London Grid, which provides connectivity to teachers, pupils and parents. Similar platforms also exist in other larger cities in Great Britain.
