Časovni izrazi so drugošolcem precej abstraktni pojmi. Periodno, zaključeno in vedno znova začeto.
Abstract
The students with speech disorders and/or autistic disorders need a lot of visual presentations, concrete cases and various activities, since their ability to concentrate is lower than with average children. The activities which lead to the understanding of the concepts of time are organized in a way that different curriculum contents are linked together in order to achieve better remembering. Since the time schedules are of special importance for the students with the autistic disorders, the activities for understanding the concepts of time are very important.
The concepts of time are fairly abstract to the second graders. The day, week, month and year are repeating periodically and in this way the time concepts were also introduced to the students. We tried to present them the concepts of time, such as the day, week, month and year through different curriculums, like Mathematics, Introduction into social surroundings, Informatics, Art, Communications, Slovene, P.E. and thus form the cross-curricular links. Students tried to understand the time concepts with the use of the ICT (information and communication technology) and therefore they were solving the problems with computer software and smart tables. The latter gave us feedback information about the acquired knowledge.
Thus, we achieved a high level of students’ motivation, since the activities were of short duration, interesting, of different kind and variegated.
Key words: day, week, month, year, cross-curricular links.
